May Property Market Update for Newton Le Willows & Haydock

Before Lockdown the property market was looking very strong, demand from buyers was up and also a good supply of new properties coming to the market. But since then, a lot of buyers have put their search on hold and this has mainly been down to the fact that traditional viewings cannot be done at the moment.

Last month I gave my opinion on what effect COVID-19 will have on the property market which you can find here.

Now, it's not all negative with the use of technology embraced by ourselves we have been able to still secure sales on properties using video tours and facetime viewings. Over the last 4 weeks I think that the public have accepted the idea of video viewings and we are starting to see an upward trend in people looking at the market again. Views through our website and the online portals have seen around 20% more people looking at property online today then we did at the start of April.

With these clear signs of buyers returning to the market, I think now is a great time to act and get the right plan in place for selling your home, as I believe it shows the first signs of recovery from what has been a quiet period so far.

Over the coming weeks we hope that restrictions will be lifted so that we will be able to do home visits with social distancing and PPE guidelines followed to ensure everyone’s safety.
